My work is performed in the environment most conducive to progress including the clinic, home, classroom, community, and nature.
Psychotherapy
In my psychotherapy sessions, I draw from theoretical perspectives that are both relational and developmental. This translates in my work through unique and meaningful relationships that can be used to examine and interpret emotions and behaviors impacting daily living. When working with neurodiverse clients, I draw on my experience with the DIR/Floortime model, a “child directed” intervention that uses motivations to foster developmental growth.
In addition to supporting neurodiverse clients I work with children and adolescents experiencing complications associated with anxiety and trauma. I invest in a strong therapeutic relationship, as clients do best when they build confidence alongside a trusted professional.
My work with parents is a collaboration to formulate strategies to best understand your child and affect change. My experience working collaboratively with a child and parent in sessions builds strong relationships with mutual understanding.
Consulting
I have spent many years working both in classrooms as a therapeutic shadow, and with staff to address problems that arise in the classroom setting. I contract with both families and schools to help understand and implement inclusion and classroom support.
Social Groups
Facilitating social groups for children and young adults is a crucial endeavor that fosters emotional, cognitive, and social development. As with my psychotherapy sessions, connection is the foundation for my groups. These groups provide a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can interact, learn, and grow alongside their peers. Through various activities, such as team-building exercises, creative projects, group problem-solving scenarios, and engaging discussions, social groups enable children and young adults to enhance their communication skills, develop empathy, and build lasting friendships. These gatherings foster a sense of belonging, allowing participants to express themselves, share experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives. By facilitating these social groups, I work to create opportunities for personal growth, resilience, and a greater appreciation for the richness of human connection.
Social groups are facilitated both in person and over zoom.
